World Equestrian Games: Gallery II
October 19, 2010
When I first heard that the World Equestrian Games were coming to Kentucky I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of. Now that it has come and gone I still feel the same way. I'm happy and somewhat proud that I got to document 12 of the 16 days that this global event was in Lexington. From a photographer's stand point it was a haul at times. There were advantages and disadvantages to a 1,200-acre horse park. The good part was, we were able to host all of the events in one venue, the bad part was...ever try to walk that much land with a full monty of camera equipment hanging off your shoulders?
I overheard a lot of moaning and griping from the European media about the way we did things here in America, and I'm no expert on how to run a horse show, but I can't help but think it was good for the Europeans to visit WEG away from their continent for a change.
The photos below are from Cross Country Eventing. I loved how the horses looked like they were walking on water.
