December 21, 2009:

The University of Kentucky notched its 2,000th victory tonight at Rupp Arena. Of course there was a media frenzy on the court afterwards. I hadn't been a part of a frenzy this big since the football team beat Louisville back in 2007. Covering a frenzy, like this, is hard because you never know where the action is going.
It's very unpredictable, and of course, you're fighting for postion with a thousand other photographers and reporters.

I always have a plan with everything else that I do in photography. What me have a plan? Yea, "Little OCD Timmy" has a plan for everything. But there is no plan when it comes to photographing something like this. It's like jumping into the deep end and hoping that your still swimming when it's over with.

As a kid who grew up watching several of those wins on television, or listening on the radio, it was pretty special to be on the floor at Rupp tonight with the likes of Joe B. Hall, Adolf Rupp's son Herky, and Bill Kightley's wife and daughter, and Jamal Mashburn. Kentucky may have its problems, but when it comes to basketball and Rupp Arena, nothing else compares.
