The Faces of Lung Cancer

January 01, 2014  •  Leave a Comment

I first started working on The Faces of Lung Cancer project for the Kentucky Cancer Program back in June. I photographed nine lung cancer survivors all over this part of the state, from Monticello, to Hazard, Grayson, Flemingsburg, Morehead, Florence, Lexington, Salyersville, and Corbin. I did a similar project in 2010 with colon cancer survivors, in which I shot environmental photos in color. This time I did black and white studio shots. The exhibit was officially opened on December 9th at the Markey Cancer Center at the University of Kentucky.
