What
Mankind Left Behind Gallery One
This gallery is comprised of a self-project
entitled "What Mankind Left Behind"
-- an artistic look at some of the junk left lying around in Eastern Kentucky.
This project is unique because Kentucky is one of the few places where people
just leave their belongings behind. Many of the objects that I have photographed
since 1992 were simply left in the woods. My self-imposed rules for this project
are simple; the item has to have been useful and or part of someone's livilihood
at some point in time. And, I don't shoot anything that has been referbished.
I like to shoot it in it's original state. The first four photographs of this
gallery are of my grandfather, Hersey Tojo Webb, who loved to trade junk, and
who was an inspiration to my vision as a photographer. Click on the thumbnail for a larger image |
