Days
One of the greatest moments of being a parent is getting to hear a newborn cry for the first time as they enter the world. As a photographer I have captured thousands of special moments that belonged to other people. But my favorite photos are the ones that I take of my family and our moments. Natalie and I have been married for 10 years and now have two boys and a girl. We decided a long time ago that we wanted three children, but Natalie has always experienced bittersweet pregnancies. The first two trimesters are very difficult for her, because she stays extremely ill day and night. The condition is known as Hyperemisis Gravidarum, which is an exagerated form of morning sickness that occurs in fewer than 1 in 200 pregnancies. But, as Natalie says, " I always recover after a few months and seem to forget about the pain once I see my baby." I have titled this gallery 286 Days, because that is the average time that a woman carries a baby. This gallery doesn't cover all 286 days, but it gives a small glimpse of what a typical day has been like for my wife as she has carried and gave birth to our children. Some photographers travel all over the world in search of the big story. I realized that my story was right under my own roof. This gallery is a pictorial journey of Natalie's pregnancy with our second child, Cameron Wayne, and our third child, Laura Kathryn. Unfortunately, I only did video of our first child Nolan.
